So, 2011 eh? That’s new.
We at The Sexy Detective have shut ourselves off from society since December in order to busily put together a 2011 battleplan. There are big things in motion… but since we can’t tell you about any of them for the moment, we’ve instead uploaded a new sketch. Take a sip of MacKenzie’s, a coffee-flavoured sketch from our 2010 revue Stray Cats and Show Rats.

Barring unfortunate accidents (say, that mobster finally catching up with Mike, or Amy being poached by a rival sketch comedy troupe), Sexy D are set to stride onto the stage at the BITS Festival tomorrow afternoon. But that’s at 3.30pm – so far away, you cry! – so to pass the time, we provide for you here a new video sketch, Medieval Name.

We’re appearing at the second inaugural BITS Festival, an independent three day sampler doowotsit showcasing bits and bobs from Brisbane’s artistic, theatre and comedy scenes.
What are we doing there? Performing some old favourites and some never-before-seen sketches! It’s tight 15 minutes of Sexy D sketchables, appearing at the Tribal Theatre this coming Sunday – so grab some BYO drinks, bring all your friends and relax with us and a host of other great Brisbane artists for a Sunday arvo sesh.

Those who came along to Stray Cats and Show Rats would have witnessed the return of Sexy D’s Dracula, our shamelessly broad brush-stroked take on Stoker’s sucker. We first introduced him in the Blood Test sketch a couple of years back and, starved for ideas, we allowed him to eat his way through the scenery and into a second sketch comedy outing entitled Coffee. It goes a-something like this:
