What, that isn’t enough for you?   Alright, here you go then…

The Sexy Detective Show began in 2004, and the troupe have since produced six seasons of their live theatre sketch shows – some of which even sold out – as well as countless video skits.   One lucky sketch, ‘Special Guests’, was commissioned for youth show JTV and screened on ABC in late 2007.

The Sexy Detective’s Youtube channel boasts sketches with hundreds of positive comments and thousands of hits. Amongst these skits is ‘Train Station’, which gained over 45,000 views after being featured on the front page of Australian YouTube in March 2008. A short film ‘Copy’, directed and co-written by Michael Griffin and starring the rest of the Sexy Detective team, was featured on the worldwide front page in October 2007, and at time of writing has been viewed nearly half a million times.  In January 2009, two more sketches were featured: ‘Democracy’ gained over 55,000 views on the Australian front page, while ‘Personal Questions’ would have made more than the 45,000 views it got in the worldwide comedy section if it hadn’t been flagged after five hours for having too much bare arse cheeks going on in it.  Some people can’t deal with sexy.

Late 2008, Sexy D entered the Comedy Channel’s Comedy Gold competition pining for the chance to grab 25K and a TV show to call their own.  The Sexy submission impressed both the voting public and the judges enough to take the group to the top five and in front of a conference room full of industry professionals and producers.  There, they divebombed.  But top five, eh?  Eh?

Many people have worked on and helped out with The Sexy Detective Show over the years, but the core members are Luke Allan, Michael Griffin, David Massingham, Amy Currie, Sean Dowling and Al Caeiro.   At some point, we’ll update this section with individual pages for each member; until then, you can make wild, unsubstantiated guesses about what they’re like.  Here’s some clues: one of them has a twin sister, one of them has an eject button tattooed onto their arm, one of them has won a BAFTA and some Emmys, one of them is a excellent photographer, one of them has lived in Sweden, and one of them isn’t nearly as interesting as the other five.

Keep posted for Sexy D’s 2010, which promises new video sketches, new live shows and perhaps some new, unprecedented Sexy ventures…
